For Anti-Bullying Week 2025 we have once again held our School Staff Award, where pupils can nominate teachers and school staff that have gone above and beyond the call of duty to prevent and respond to bullying and to raise awareness of bullying in school.
NOMINATIONS FOR THE SCHOOL STAFF AWARD 2026 ARE NOW OPEN!
Competition this year again has been stiff - with hundreds of nominations. In the end, it was the unenviable job of our panel of children & young people to decide the winners.
We are so pleased to have had the support of Radnor FAM who sponsored this award. Every single member of school staff that was nominated received a certificate of nomination, whilst the winners received a framed certificate, trophy, as well as some wonderful prizes thanks to Radnor FAM.
We are also grateful for the support of BulliesOut who also sponsored the award in Wales.
"Rose runs lots of assemblies in the school about bullying and why people bully. She also teaches lessons on how to say no and how to stand up for what is right. She made a special childrens anti bullying policy with the school council to help us recognise what is bullying and what is not. We know that bullying is Several Times On Purpose. She helps us understand how to use our words to speak up. She has made special posters all over the school telling us to Start Telling Other People and to understand that with adult help we can sort out any problems we may have. Every class in our school now has posters and discussions about behaviour. Rose also does a lot of work with us about being anti racist and standing up to discrimination and prejudice. If we fell a person is treating us differently becauso fhow we look we know that Rose andother adults in our school will always listen. She also teaches us about children's rights and equality and helps us understand that all children have the right to be safe, in school and at home."
"Mr Murdock, when I was in Year 7, introduced Stand Up Speak Out, a school-wide initiative to make our school a better place, tackle bullying and encourage students to report any issues they face. He brought together a group of students (including me) and teachers, guiding and supporting us so the idea became a real, successful movement. Without his leadership, it wouldn’t have grown into what it is today. Thanks to him, reporting has increased, we’ve had two relaunches and the initiative is visible throughout the school. It has created a safer and more supportive environment where students feel confident to speak up. Personally, it gave me the courage to stand up for myself and for others, something I wouldn’t have done as easily without him. His impact goes beyond our school. By helping our student group join the Young Anti-Bullying Alliance, he extended our voices across the UK, influencing other schools and communities. Mr Murdock hasn’t just supported a project; he has empowered students, created a safe space and helped build a culture of kindness and respect. His vision, dedication and care have changed lives, which is why he truly deserves the Anti-Bullying Week School Staff Award."
“I nominate this teacher because he brings positivity to the year 6 class and shows happiness to all pupils. He is also good at solving problems like when someone is in an argument he will sort it out by talking,but he also brings joy to the class by making funny jokes and just being funny in general.He puts on some of our favourite tunes and makes school a fun place for us.”
“Kishanda Bevan Rees is always there for the students who need her. When someone is going through a hard time she will try her best to focus on them and make them feel cared for and safe. When I was struggling with my school life she became an anchor, I started to look forward to school because I knew I had someone who took my needs seriously. I know many students who feel the same. To me Kishanda deserves this more than anyone else.”
"I think Mrs O’Braonain should win the Anti-Bullying Week School Staff Award because she is always smiling and makes everyone feel safe and happy. She really cares about us and listens when we have problems. I trust her because she never lets anyone feel left out or sad. She helped make our anti-bullying policy and taught us how to treat each other kindly. She always reminds us how we should behave and why it’s important to be respectful. If someone is being bullied, she helps straight away and makes sure it stops. Mrs O’Braonain also made outdoor play better so we can have fun and make friends. She checks that everyone is included and having a good time. She goes above and beyond to make our school a kind and safe place. I think she really deserves this award!"
"When ever I needed to talk to her I could go up to her room any time and her door would be open and I knew I could trust her and that she would tell anyone unless she felt the need to
