Jigsaw Education Group have developed a collection of free Primary and Secondary Anti-Bullying Week 2026 resources to support the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s ‘Break the Silence’ theme.
Jigsaw's resources help schools create safe, supportive environments where every child feels able to speak up, seek help and support others when they experience or witness bullying. The resources are designed to support a whole-school approach, beginning with a shared whole-school assembly and followed by age-appropriate classroom activities. These activities encourage children and young people to recognise bullying, understand the importance of speaking up, identify trusted adults and explore safe, practical ways to help themselves and others.
The primary resource pack includes:
- A whole-school assembly to launch the ‘Break the Silence’ theme.
- Age-appropriate classroom follow-up activities for EYFS/KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2, including:
- STAR Framework – a simple, memorable approach to help children know what they can do if they experience or witness bullying.
- Odd Socks activity – celebrating what makes us unique and reinforcing that difference is something to value.
- Helping Hand – supporting children to identify the trusted adults they can talk to when something doesn’t feel right.
- Discussion and role-play scenarios – age-appropriate situations that help children explore what bullying can look like and practise ways to respond and speak up.
The secondary resource pack includes:
- A whole-school assembly to launch the ‘Break the Silence’ theme.
- Optional form/tutor-time activities, including:
- Practise the Five Directions – applying the framework to a range of online and offline scenarios.
- Online Scenario Decision – exploring different choices and considering the risks and consequences of each response.
- Rank Your Ds – reflecting on which of the Five Directions pupils might feel most comfortable using and why.
- Write It, Then Solve It Extension Task – creating and solving a bullying scenario using one of the Five Directions.
- A Five Directions information poster – a simple visual reminder of the different ways pupils can take action and break the silence.
