Terms and Conditions - ‘Team Talk Challenge’

About the Competition

The Team Talk Challenge is a competition led by the Anti-Bullying Alliance to celebrate Anti-Bullying Week 2025. We’re asking young people aged 13–16 to write and perform a short motivational “team talk” about how they can use their Power for Good to work together and stand up to bullying in their school or community. The best entries will be selected by our Patron and Manchester City defender Rúben Dias, who will also provide prizes and feedback.

1. Eligibility

  • Entries must feature no more than 5 young people, all aged between 13 and 16 years old at the time of submission.
  • Each video must include a team captain delivering a motivational team talk related to anti-bullying of no more than 90 seconds (max file size 1GB).
  • Entries must be submitted by an adult staff member (teacher, youth worker, or sports club staff). Unfortunately we can’t accept entries directly from parents or carers. 
  • Each school, club or team can only submit one entry.
  • Please note that entries only from the United Kingdom are eligible.

2. How to Enter

  • Submit:
    • A video file (filmed in portrait mode if possible)
    • The video script
    • Full contact details of the responsible adult submitting on behalf of the group
  • Entries must be submitted via the Google Form (link on our website).
  • If you struggle to submit your video via Google Form, you can opt to transfer your video to us via WeTransfer. If you select this option, please ensure you send the transfer to [email protected] and include in your message your name, organisation and that it is for the Rúben Dias’s Anti-Bullying ‘Team Talk Challenge’ 2025 competition. Please also select for the transfer link to expire at least after 3 days. Once sent, please keep the WeTransfer link and include it in your submission of the Google Form. PLEASE NOTE: Without completing the Google Form, your submission cannot be accepted.
  • The deadline for entries is 5pm on Wednesday 16 July 2025.

3. Consent and Safeguarding

  • Consent must be sought by the submitting member of staff:
    • Signed consent forms from each young person featured
    • Parental consent for those under 16 years old
  • ABA's consent form must be used. You can access this form here.
  • Consent forms must be held by the submitting staff member, who must confirm they can produce them on request, if the team is shortlisted or wins.
  • Videos must not contain identifiable information about participants such as names, school badges, uniforms with logos, specific locations or ages. Submissions containing identifiable information will be disqualified.

4. Judging and Prizes

Judging will be led by Rúben Dias, Patron of the Anti-Bullying Alliance and Manchester City defender.

  • One winning team will receive:
    • A surprise live video call motivational talk from Rúben Dias
    • Feedback on their speech
    • An extra special prize to be announce
  • A small number of runner-up teams will receive personalised feedback from Rúben.
  • Winners and runners-up will be contacted in early September 2025.
  • Winning entries will be publicly announced in the lead-up to Anti-Bullying Week 2025 (10–14 November) and promoted across Anti-Bullying Alliance platforms.

5. Data Protection

  • The Anti-Bullying Alliance will store the contact details of the submitting adult for the purposes of competition administration only.
  • All data will be handled according to the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s privacy policy.
  • By entering, you consent to the Anti-Bullying Alliance using anonymised versions of your video content (without personal identifiers except the name of the schools, youth club or sport team) for promotional and educational purposes.
  • We will not store or publish any footage containing identifiable information without additional explicit consent.

6. Technical Guidance

  • Videos can be filmed on a phone, but should:
    • Be recorded in portrait mode (where possible)
    • Have clear, steady footage with audible sound
    • Be filmed in a safe environment
  • Avoid noisy backgrounds or fast camera movements.
  • Scripts must accompany each video.

7. General Terms

  • The Anti-Bullying Alliance reserves the right to disqualify any entries not meeting the guidelines or submitted after the deadline.
  • No purchase or payment is necessary to enter.
  • The competition is run for charitable purposes and no cash alternative to prizes is available.
  • The Anti-Bullying Alliance reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel the competition at any time.
