Each year the Anti-Bullying Alliance coordinates Anti-Bullying Week in schools across Wales. This is the second year we have held an award for school staff in Wales in partnership with BulliesOut, for staff who go beyond the call of duty to support children with issues such as bullying, family life, relationships and health. The unique thing about the award is that pupils nominate the member of school staff they think should win the award and the winners are chosen by a panel of young people.

All nominees have received received a certificate to surprise the school staff and we've worked with young people to select two winners, one for primary and one for secondary. We're delighted to deliver the School Staff Award in Wales with our friends at BulliesOut.
We are delighted that St David's Hotel & Spa have supported the School Staff Award Wales and provided prizes for the Primary and Secondary School award winners. Winners will receive an Overnight Stay with a Full Welsh Breakfast and use of the Spa at the 5* St David’s Hotel and Spa in the picturesque Cardiff Bay.
The winners are ...
Mr Heade
"Mr Heade always speaks calmly if ever anyone is nasty to someone or about somebody. He tells people to take a minute and then talks to them about how what they did has upset or hurt somebody. The person who isn’t kind will then apologise & sometimes write a card to apologise. He always talks to the class about what is good and bad behaviour & to be like Jesus. Also, Mr Heade will always gather us all on the carpet when someone has done something wrong to explain why that is horrible behaviour that none of us should do."

Mr Jason Evans
"We would like to nominate Mr. Evans as he is always there to help and support us. He makes us laugh when we're sad, he picks us up when we're feeling down. We always feel that we can talk to him about anything, at any time. He knows our individual needs and will help each of us, with things that suit us. We like him, we trust him, and we respect him. Being in school without him would be weirder. We feel safer with him around. He's a friendly face any time of the day. We're really thankful for him."
