Anti-Bullying Alliance announces partnership with Bukhman Philanthropies

Preventing bullying and improving wellbeing through evidence, education, and youth leadership.

Anti-Bullying Alliance - Bukhman Philanthropies

The Anti-Bullying Alliance is pleased to announce during this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week, a new partnership with Bukhman Philanthropies, who are investing £500,000 over three years to support a national programme to prevent bullying, improve wellbeing and embed inclusive, evidence informed anti bullying practice.

Founded in 2002 and based at the National Children’s Bureau, the Anti-Bullying Alliance brings together more than 250 organisations across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Through national campaigns, professional training, youth leadership and sector wide collaboration, the Alliance works to end childhood bullying and create safer, kinder environments for children and young people.

Bullying remains one of the most common and harmful experiences affecting children and young people, with lasting impacts on mental health, wellbeing and education. Despite this, many schools and professionals lack access to consistent, evidence-led training and support. This partnership will help address that gap through a coordinated, preventative and system wide approach.

Over the next three years, the partnership will support more than 750 professionals through evidence informed anti-bullying training, reach over 8 million children and young people each year through Anti Bullying Week school resources, and support at least 90 young people as national change makers through the Young Anti-Bullying Alliance. The programme will also strengthen practice across more than 250 organisations through shared learning and research translation, and develop and test a new school toolkit to support children who bully others to reflect on and change harmful behaviour.

  • Daria Bukhman, co-founder and chair of Bukhman Philanthropies, said: “Schools are under growing pressure to support children’s wellbeing, often without the joined-up support they need. This partnership strengthens collaboration across the system, helping schools embed evidence-informed, whole-school approaches that support children and young people to thrive.
  • The Co-Chairs of the Anti-Bullying Alliance, Jennifer Moses and Will Gardner, said “This partnership strengthens what the Anti-Bullying Alliance offers its members: evidence-led training, practical resources, and shared learning that support schools and settings to prevent bullying and respond effectively. By working together, we can reach more professionals and better support young people to feel safe and included.”
  • Anna Feuchtwang, CEO of the National Children’s Bureau, said “The Anti-Bullying Alliance plays a vital role in supporting schools and professionals with the knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to prevent bullying. This partnership enables that work to reach further, strengthening training, resources and youth-led insight, so more children and young people thrive in safer, more supportive environments.”

By partnering with the Anti-Bullying Alliance, Bukhman Philanthropies is helping to strengthen the systems that shape children’s everyday lives, supporting evidence-led practice at scale and ensuring that prevention, inclusion, and youth voice remain at the heart of anti-bullying work.
