Accessing the Training:

You can access the CPD online training via the ABA website. If you click on 'Tools & information', it will give you the option to access the 'Free CPD online training' page: https://anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/tools-information/free-cpd-online-training

The 'Free CPD online training' page provides you with useful links to our FAQ page, Technical Checker Tool and the Online Training Flyer. It also has links to the Online Training Catalogue and for registering and logging in.

Registering & Logging in:

When you are ready to register, you can do so via clicking the 'create new account' option, filling in the requested information and clicking the 'create new account' button at the bottom of the page.

Once registered, you can log in using the 'log in' page. The math question is a security feature and must be completed to set up the account.

If you cannot remember your login details, you can use the 'request new password' option to renew your password.

Home:

Once logged in, you will gain access to your account's home page. By clicking the 'View' tab you can see what courses you have signed up to (under 'Group membership'). On the left-hand side you also have access to the training catalogue by clicking the open book symbol.

If you click the 'Edit' tab, you will be able to edit your login details.

If you click on the 'My results' tab you will be able to review your progress in the courses you have signed up to.

Starting an Online Training Course:

By reviewing the online training catalogue you can choose which course you would like to start. When you have decided, click 'Start module' to begin the course.

Next there will be a page checking that you indeed want to start the course. Click 'Start' if you would like to proceed to the training.

You will be sent to an introduction page, outlining the content of the course you have selected. When you are ready, click 'Continue' to begin the course. You will note at this stage that the 'YOUR CERTIFICATE' option is grey and the lessons all have crosses next to them. This is because you have not completed the course yet. As you proceed you will get ticks and at the end the certificate will become accessible (you will find out more about this later in the user guide).

The image below is what you will see when completing the training. The blue bar at the bottom shows what stage you are on in the lesson. The numbers at the bottom also indicate which page you are on, whilst the arrows allow you to click forward and backwards. If you want to do the training in full screen view, you can click on the arrows in the bottom right-hand corner to expand.

Answering Questions:

As you progress through the training, you will come across questions (these need to be answered in order to complete the course). The questions are indicated in the bottom progress bar as circles. Once you have completed the question you can click 'Check' to see if your answer is correct.

If you got the question correct, it will let you know. If you got it wrong, it will give you the option of showing the solution or retrying. Click on the option applicable to you.

Please also note that some questions have a lot of information in them - which means it does not fit on one page. In these situations the questions have scrollbars, which you will need to scroll up and down in order to see the whole question and to click 'Check'.

Types of questions:

There are a number of different types of questions you may come across in your training. These include:

Multiple choice questions. For these please click on the correct option/s.

True or False questions. For these please select the correct option.

Drag and drop questions. For these please drag the options into the correct areas.

Fill in the blanks questions. For these please either drag or type the correct answer into the blank boxes.

Finishing a Lesson:

At the very end of a lesson you will be able to see your results for each question. Here you can review the solutions or retry them. Once you have completed all the necessary questions, click 'Finish' to end the lesson.

If you have completed the lesson fully, after clicking 'Finish' the lesson should have a tick next to it. When you are ready to start the next lesson, click on the next link (the title of the next lesson) in order to access it. Repeat this process with all lessons until they are all ticked.

Finishing the Course/Getting your Certificate:

Once all the lessons have been completed, you will come to the 'Final Survey'. We will be grateful if you can provide feedback via completing this survey. Once you have finished the survey, click 'Finish' and a tick should appear. Once all the lessons and the survey have a tick next to them, 'YOUR CERTIFICATE' should become pink. This means you can click on it and get your certificate. Please download this and save it to your computer to avoid losing it. You get a certificate at the end of each course.

Logging out:

If you want to log out, you can do so by clicking 'Logout' in the top right-hand corner.
