I am Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London. My most extensive research has been on bullying in schools, starting with the Sheffield Project in the 1990s which produced the Don’t Suffer in Silence pack for schools. I have led further research projects including a COST Action on Cyberbullying. I have published many books and articles, including Smith, P.K. (2018), The Psychology of School Bullying. London: Routledge (for a general readership) and jointly edited (with James O’Higgins Norman, 2021) The Wiley Blackwell Handbook of Bullying: A Comprehensive and International Review of Research and Intervention (for a more academic readership). I have been a member of ABA since its foundation, and was on the Advisory Board from 2004-2008. I have been involved in evaluating the UAB intervention; and since 2015 have produced an annual Focus on Bullying report (a digest of the years research, in the UK).
