Rating description:
- Fully met: Responses to bullying include SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bonded) outcomes
- Partially met: Most responses to bullying include SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bonded) outcomes
- Not yet met: Responses to bullying do not include SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bonded) outcomes
Tips:
- The reason that this is important is that young people often tell us they are not sure what has happened after a bullying incident.
- SMART targets when drawing up a response with young people will mean that you have realistic and time bound goals that can be clearly seen and fed back to young people.

As part of our 'Bullying Incident Log' there is an outcomes section. Beside the outcome section is the word 'SMART' to remind the member of staff completing the form to ensure this is covered. The updated Incident log was shared with all staff and this was explained therefore all outcomes are now SMART outcomes. Since using SMART outcomes we have noticed that children are much more likely to achieve their outcomes as they are much more realistic and achievable for them.
After meeting with students, the Pastoral leader issues SMART outcomes on a form which is then logged and reviewed at the end of each term.
